It’s already time for the New Year’s Eve post of 2021! It’s almost 2022, and I feel by everything that this is going to be another wonderful year. I received my paralegal degree in February of this year. Then I got a job with a very annoying manager, and had quit my job after 1,5 weeks. After all, life is far too short to do things that don’t make you happy! After thinking briefly, I decided to sign up for a new study. My life has never been predictable, but this also shows that it probably never will be. I love it. I have met a lot of nice people, have the best volunteer work with (kids and youth) in the world and enjoy every day of it. Right now I’m in Malta, escaping the Dutch lockdown. In the sun, with good food and wine.
And I’m going into 2022 with highlights in my hair, done by myself! Since we’re in lockdown, I had to do it myself. After watching about 6 hours of tutorials, I just did it. Very professional with foils, salon blonde, and okay, I did use my cat’s brush, because I didn’t had a small one. But hey, it’s all about the end result. And I’m shining with my new hair.
This week I bought the perfect red shade of Chanel lipstick (finally), and on my way back I cycled past the oliebollen stall. Because I’m in Malta this year for New Year’s Eve, I had to eat the Dutch traditional oliebollen a bit earlier this year. That worked out fine, I ate 10 of them in one week. If you have never eaten oliebollen (or appelbeignets) and you are in the Netherlands, I would recommend eating these. They are only available in December (or at the carnival). This year I am going to enjoy the Maltese pastries. As I announced earlier, starting in 2022 there will be a new category named ‘travel’. I will write about my trips and you can also expect blogs of day trips to cities. Looking forward to write in this new category.
The recurring theme of ‘men’ I will nevertheless discuss again here. Well, by now I have found out that there really are a lot of nice men. I am also a whole year wiser when it comes to men. I still manage to find a couple of down to earth men who do not grow fancy Japanese vegetables on their balcony, work out five times a week or want to marry you after two days. Don’t get me wrong, I still understand pretty little about them. As I’ve written before, first you talk with Ryan Gosling from the Notebook, but as soon as you know them a little longer than 48 hours, they turn into Jack Nicholson from The Shining. I’m not worried about it, whether I find love or not in 2022. It would be lovely, but only if it comes from both sides. After all, I’m not an entertainer or a side dish. I want to be the main menu. We just hope for it again in 2022, no rush, because I’m going for gold.
Since I started my new studies, exercising has slumped a bit again. Fortunately, my body has not turned into a pudding, I am blessed with that. If I had had different genes, I would have been obese by now, and I would have had to look for a man with a fetish for obese women. But then again, I’m not at that stage and won’t be. Nevertheless, I do not accept the fact that I am gasping for breath at the top of the stairs. I exaggerate, but you get me. I just need to start exercising again. And if I do, I can look for a fitboy who eats rice, chicken and beans all day long. And drinks protein shakes while I’m drinking wine. Oh God, no. Someone has to eat my cakes.

While writing this article, my cat bit my boob. I sincerely hope that in 2022 he no longer has the urge to bite my ankles, arms, hands and, since today, my boob. We will see. In any case, I, and hopefully you, will enter the new year with a nice drink, dancing, laughing, being with loved ones and partying. Many people always say “well the next day everything will still be exactly the same”, but that depends on your mindset. Bye 2021, hello 2022. I wish you a loving year, with beautiful new opportunities, much happiness and joy and no misfortune! Cheers from Malta!
